Huru skall man det besinna

När de bliva gifta blir de skräp ändå

Sällan vill de vara hemma

Ty de slita skor dit som hålles krog

Uti sus och dus taga de sig rus

Supa brännevin tills de ser ut som svin

Ja ack vad uselt är att ha en sådan kär

Bättre är att ensam vara

Ja nu är det svårt för gossarna att gå

Ty deras sällskap äro dyra

Nu förslår det inte supa för en plåt

Säkert skall det vara fyra

Den som inte super är i stort förakt

Brännevin förtager både vett och makt

Mången säger så bara jag kan få

Lika gott vad det ska kosta

Här förtjänas pengar både när och fjärr

Här förtjänas stora löner

När som gossarna de skola gifta sig

Så har de knappast till begåvning

Orsak därtill är deras egen skull

De har illa handlat ofta varit full

Är det inte sant ut i spel och dans

Mången krona blir förlorad

Jag kan aldrig veta vad de flickor se

Som så gärna vill sig gifta
