Í gegnum þoku bárust þeir

Og gáfu fyrirheit um eitthvað nýtt

Þeir lofuðu hlyju og ró

Eftir bölið og biðina

Dagarnir nú snerust við

Þar sem skugga bjuggu skein nú sól

Og kraftur hljómsins blés lifi

Í vonina sem undir bjó

Og döpur augu sem ádur voru tóm

Segja nú sögun á ný

Og gömul hjörtu sem ádur höfðu gleymt

Finna loks taktinn á mý

En allir sem það upplifðu

Sáu aldrei aftur betri dag
