Che del chiasso ormai non ne possiamo più

E la nostra vera forza

È accettare la fragilità

Nel silenzio di una lacrima

Tra le storie della strada

Ritroviamo il senso di questa realtà

Non riusciamo ad adattarci

Agli schemi della quotidianità

Meticci siamo quando

Non vestiamo mai alla moda

E non indossiamo niente con le griffe

Ma viviamo bene, anche così

Ma che tempo che viviamo!

Tutto di polistirolo

Che si muove al comando del profeta di turno

Ma che tempo che viviamo!

Che nemmeno ci conosciamo

Quasi abbiamo paura di quello che siamo

Illusi siamo noi

Che crediamo

Di guarire il mondo

Con la poesia

Di leggervi la vita

E pensare che la guerra

Sia finita

Siamo inermi e ci accorgiamo

Che la stupidità ormai è un tic

Meticci siamo quando

Se guardiamo verso l’altro

Ritroviamo due occhi che sappiamo già

Meticci siamo quando

Del giudizio della gente

Non ce ne frega proprio niente, neanche un po'

Meticcia io che non mi adatterò

Meticci

Ma che tempo che viviamo!

Tutto di polistirolo

Che si muove al comando del profeta di turno

Ma che tempo che viviamo!

Che nemmeno ci conosciamo

Quasi abbiamo paura di quello che siamo

Di guarire il mondo

Con la poesia

Di leggervi la vita

E pensare che la guerra

Sia finita

Noi sconfitti tante volte

Ma abbiamo giocato e va bene così

Con i nostri bicchieri

I sentimenti letterari

E ideali che non smarriamo mai

Ma abbiamo perso amici e amori

E schegge di polmoni

Pur di non piegarci a vivere a metà

E adesso conosciamo la realtà

Siamo meticci

It is accepting fragility

We rediscover the meaning of this reality

To the patterns of everyday life

We never dress in fashion

And we don't wear anything with designer labels

But we live well, even so

We are almost afraid of who we are

We are deluded

We believe

To heal the world

With poetry

To read your life

And to think that war

It's over

We are mestizos when

We are helpless and we realize

That stupidity is now a tic

We are mestizos when

If we look towards the other

We find two eyes that we already know

We are mestizos when

Of people's judgment

We don't give a damn, not even a little

I mestizo who will not adapt

Mixed-breed

But what a time we live!

We have been defeated many times

But we played and that's okay

With our glasses

The literary feelings

And ideals that we never lose

But we have lost friends and loves

And splinters of lungs

So as not to bend to live halfway

And now we know the reality

We are mestizos
