Contro i fucili, carri armati e bombe

contro le giunte militari, le tombe

contro il cielo che ormai?

pieno, di tanti ordigni

nucleari

contro tutti i capi al potere che non sono ignari.

Contro i massacri di Sabra e Chatila

contro i folli martiri dell’Ira

contro inique sanzioni, crociate americane

per tutta la gente che soffre, e che muore di fame.

Contro chi tiene la gente col fuoco

contro chi comanda e ha in mano il gioco

contro chi parla di fratellanza, amore, libert?

e poi finanzia guerre e atrocit?.

Contro il razzismo sudafricano

contro la destra del governo israeliano

conto chi ha commesso stragi, pagato ancora non ha per tutta la gente ormai stanca che vuole verit?.

Contro tutte le intolleranze

contro chi soffoca le speranze

contro antichi fondamentalismi e nuovi imperialismi

contro la poca memoria della storia.

Contro chi fa credere la guerra un dovere

contro chi vuole dominio e potere

contro le medaglia all’onore, alla santit?

per tutta la gente che grida libert?.

Against guns, tanks and bombs

against the military juntas, the graves

against the sky now?

full, of many bombs

nuclear

against all leaders in power who are not oblivious.

Against the massacres of Sabra and Chatila

against the mad martyrs of the IRA

against unfair sanctions, American crusades

for all the people who suffer, and who are dying of hunger.

Against those who keep people with fire

against whoever commands and has the game in hand

against who speaks of brotherhood, love, freedom?

and then it finances wars and atrocities.

Against South African racism

against the right of the Israeli government

I count those who have committed massacres, have not paid yet for all the people who are now tired who want truth.

Against all intolerances

against those who stifle hopes

against ancient fundamentalisms and new imperialisms

against the little memory of history.

Against those who make war believe a duty

against those who want dominion and power

against the medal of honor, holiness?

for all the people who cry out for freedom.
