Revelation in Maggots - Gespenst

A sense of dread awakes my mind

Obfuscated light pierces my eyes

A dream of nothingness

Slowly dissipates reality

I know this place…

My thoughts have been here

For the longest time

Dwelling in the echoes of dismay

As my final breath initiates decay

Lack of life enforces a slow revelation

A sea of worms, in crawling pace

All over me, consumes my face

But I still see, without my eyes

As maggots feast, and hatch to flies

«Do you want to know

If one life goes and one comes after?

Everything goes dark inside

No taste, no smell, no feeling

All your senses fade

You’ll still be aware

You’ll still think but only briefly

Until even that fades away

Leaving just death»

Absence of flesh reveals my bones

Absence of thought reveals a void

I look at my remains

Till the end of all thoughts

Echoing away in the nothingness within
