Un petit lapin

Qui s´était levé bon matin

Courait dans la rosée, le thym

La bouche en coeur

En chantant des chansons

Il était heureux

Comme un lapin peut être heureux

Quand il est tombé amoureux

Des plus jolies oreilles du buisson

Il fallait le voir

Se regarder dans un miroir

En se penchant sur l´abreuvoir

A la façon d´un lutin polisson

La chasse est fermée

Et la campagne endormie

On pourra s´aimer

Et visiter

Les amis, les amis

C´eût été trop beau

Même pour un lapin cabot

Et le passage d´un corbeau

Sur le chemin n´augurait rien de bon

Et tout aussitôt

Sur la grande route du château

Le bruit terrible des autos

Des militaires et le son du canon

C´était les manoeuvres du printemps

Qui commençaient drapeau flottant

Marche forcée comme annoncée

A grand coup de clairon

Et foi de lapin

Au diable ces galopins

Qui jouent du tambour

A la saison des amours, des amours

A little bunny

who got up early in the morning

Ran in dew, thyme

Mouth in heart

Singing songs

He was happy

How happy a rabbit can be

When he fell in love

Of the prettiest ears in the bush

You had to see it

Look in a mirror

Leaning over the trough

Like a naughty pixie

The hunt is closed
