Stein Meiner Ahnen - Equilibrium

Am Berges Fuß ich steh'

Im Schatten jener Macht

Das Gipfelkreuz ich seh'

In seiner ganzen Pracht

Hinauf mein Weg mich führt

So sei nun mein Gedicht

Hab' es mir selbst erkürt

Der Weg zurück, den gibt es nicht!

Um meinen Hals trag ich stets diesen Stein

Ein Blick auf ihn sagt mir ich bin nicht allein

Denn einst war er schon meiner Vorfahr’n Besitz

Bot Kühnheit und Stärke bei Donner und Blitz

Groß wird sein mein Sold

Noch viel mehr, als pures Gold

Wenn ich oben bin

Meiner Ahnen ich mich entsinn'

Entlang der eisig Klamm

Vorbei am Dorngebüsch

Ich kriech' auch durch den Schlamm

Dann stink' ich halt nach Fisch

Die Schluchten wittern schon

Ganz hämisch grinsend ist ihr Blick

Doch ich will rauf zum Thron

Und lach' mit breiter Brust zurück

Past the thorn bush

I crawl through the mud too

Then I just smell like fish

The gorges are already scenting

But I want up to the throne

And laugh back with a big chest
