Die Schuhe passen noch

Das Shirt 'n bisschen enger

Beim letzten Marathon war die Vorbereitung länger

Doch es zählt die Erfahrung von etlichen Jahren

Man gewinnt hier im Kopf und nicht auf der Bahn

Der Startschuss ertönt, die Konkurrenz zieht vorbei

Ich bin nicht aus der Puste, nein ich teil mir nur ein

Doch kurz vor meinem ersten echten Runner’s High

Der unglückliche Blackout bei Kilomter 2

Ich erwach im Sanitätszelt, alls leicht verschwommen

Das Rennen zwar verpasst, doch die Urkunde bekommen

Und während ich mit Wadenkrämpfen Richtung Ausgang lauf

Nick ich mir im Stillen zu denk
