Sein Name war Johannes und er war ziemlich abgefahrn

Er schlachtete sich Heuschrecken, hatte 'ne Camel-Jacke an

Die Leute kamen zu ihm weil er so ein Schreihals war

Und die Message, die er für sie hatte, war so hart wie klar

Soldaten und Gelehrten sagte er, was Sache ist

Und auch den ander’n rief er zu: «Kehrt um von eurem Mist !»

Johannes hatte keine Angst und blieb deshalb nicht stumm

Stattdessen schrie er es heraus «Leute, kehrt jetzt um!»

«O.K., Mann das war gestern, doch was soll damit noch sein

Was Johnnyboy da sagte, das betrifft doch heut kein Schwein!»

Dann wirst Du sehn, über Johnny kannst Du heut nicht lachen!

Sie lesen Bravo und tun wirklich alles, nur um «in» zu sein

In den Konferunterricht gehn sie bloß wegen Kohle rein

Sie haben noch nicht ganz kapiert, was wirklich wichtig ist

Und vergessen daß es Gott gibt, der sie wahnsinnig vermißt

Die Eltern haben längst verschlafen, daß sie für ihr Kind

Der erste Ansprechpartner und dazu noch Vorbild sind

Du siehst, dies kleine Beispiel zeigt es: Gott ist uns egal

Und damit es wirklich alle hörn, sag ich es nochmal:

Kürzlich ist mir was komisches passiert:

In der Kirche sitz ich und bin ordentlich gekämmt

Doch innen siehts ganz anders aus, mein Herz ist wie gelähmt

Der Pfarrer predigt wieder, doch, o shit, es ist ein Graus

Das Wort geht zwar hinein, doch geht zum andern Ohr heraus!

Ich frag mich jetzt und frag Dich auch: sind wir so hirnverbrannt?

Daß wir heute nicht erkennen was der Johnny längst erkannt'!

All das gilt nicht nur für jene, es gilt für Mann und Frau

Es gilt für alle Menschen und nicht die Muppetshow
