Повелеть громам пробегающим поверх утесов кремнистых, да умолкнут;

Иль палящему Перуну, да сокроет в облаках свинцовых смертоносные очи свои;

Или вихрю неукротимому, да сложит на чело земли крылья свои быстропарящие;

Возможно лишь власти единаго Миродержателя!

Повелеть буйному движению сердца своего, пылающего гневом и мщением,

Да укротит порывы ныистовства;

Или духу своему мятущемуся кичением любочестия,

Да смирит его браздою любомудрия;

Или предрассудку закоренелому, да откроет очи дремавшие

И узрит истину в Свете ее.

Command the thunders that run over the flinty cliffs, let them be silent;

Or to the scorching Perun, may he hide his deadly eyes in clouds of lead;

Or an indomitable whirlwind, let it lay its fast-flying wings on the forehead of the earth;

Only the power of a single Peaceholder is possible!

Command the violent movement of your heart, burning with anger and vengeance,

May he tame the impulses of whining;

Or to your spirit, restless with the arrogance of piety,

May he humble him with the reins of wisdom;

Or inveterate prejudice, may it open dormant eyes

And see the truth in its Light.
