Srce moje, primiče se zima

I kosa tvoja gubi sjaj i sijedi

Kao nad krovom sivi pramen dima

Kada u tami nestaje i blijedi

U sve polako uvlači se studen

I sve smo tiši, sve nas više nema

To sunce prži jedan snježni grumen

To noć se duga u daljini sprema

Još malo sati, još koja minuta

I nešto suza, nešto tihog plača

Izgubljen se putnik sa daleka puta

Umoran i sretan u zavičaj vraća

Tako ćemo i mi sad na kraju muke

Kad nas više ništa na svijetu ne dijeli

Jedno drugom nijemo, blago stisnut ruke

Kao da nas čeka opet život cijeli

I usnuti sretni, smireni i blagi

K’o visoka stabla u šumskoj tišini

Jedno drugom dobri, jedno drugom vjerni

Kao mornar brodu u strašnoj dubini
