Il pleut, il pleut bergère,

La fille pleure tout bas,

Espérant que la guerre,

Et la pluie finira.

Hommes d’armes pénètrent,

Gardent puis la forêt.

Ont vu à la fenêtre,

La fille qui pleurait.

Messieurs dit la gamine:

Faudrait que vous iriez

Dans la grange voisine,

Et du feu vous feriez.

Pour nous sécher la belle,

Point n’ai besoin de feu.

J’irai en ta ruelle,

Tant de fois que tu veux.

Je vous fait ma prière,

Ne parlez pas ainsi.

M’ont promise pour la guerre.
