Am Piz da Peres steigt er hoch hinauf

als ihm der Berg mit Gewitter droht

Wolken zieh’n schon über's Fanestal hin

im letzten Abendrot

Er sucht Schutz vor dieser Naturgewalt

verliert im Fels schon beinah den Halt

da sieht er nicht weit vor sich

eine Hütte steh’n

und ein Mädchen bringt im dort

Brot und Wein

so trauirg schön ist es ganz allein

es sagt: Ich bin froh, Dich bei mir zu seh’n
