Ach Papi, geh' doch heuer nicht auf die Weihnachtsfeier,

sonst kommst du wieder schwankend heim

und Mami wird ganz traurig sein,

am schönen Weihnachtsfest.

Der Vater sprach zu seinem Sohn:

«Am Kranz, da brennt ein Lichtlein schon.

Das ist die schönste Zeit im Jahr,

da werden viele Wünsche wahr!».

Der Vater sprach vom Weihnachtsmann,

sein Junge aber sah' ihn an.

Dann sagte er:

«Ich wünsche mir das eine nur von dir:»

Ach Papi, geh' doch heuer…

«Du weißt ja noch im letzten Jahr,

warst du am Abend noch nicht da.

Ein Taxi hat dich Heim gebracht,

das war beinah' um Mitternacht.

Und dein Gesang war gar nicht schön,

die Kinder mußten schlafen geh’n

und Mutter war sehr bös' auf dich.

D’rum wünschen alle sich:
