
Валентина Толкунова was a Soviet and Russian singer, born on July 12, 1946, in the USSR. She performed songs in the genres of love, family, and military-patriotic lyrics, as well as children's and Russian pop. During her 44-year career Валентина Толкунова recorded over 800 songs, many of which became popular among listeners of different generations. She was awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR and received the Lenin Komsomol Prize. Among her famous songs are "Silver Weddings" and "Standing at the Half-Station." Толкунова made a significant contribution to the development of Soviet and Russian pop music.
