He began his career on the Beats label, where he recorded until its closure on February 12, 2008. In 2008, Professor Green achieved success by winning JumpOff MySpace rap battle, winning a £50,000 prize. In 2009, he collaborated with Lily Allen , performing on her concert tour. Professor Green made a significant contribution to the development of British rap, combining elements of pop and ska in his music.
