
Mikis Theodorakis (also known as Микес Теодоракис ) is a Greek composer, social activist, and political figure, born on July 29, 1925, in Greece. His work spans the genres of pop and Balkan music. Theodorakis rose to prominence with his scores, including the film score for Zorba the Greek. He was also awarded the International Lenin Prize "For Strengthening Peace Among Nations." Theodorakis left a significant mark on musical culture, combining traditional Greek motifs with contemporary musical forms.
