
Karriem Riggins is an American jazz drummer, record producer, DJ, and songwriter from Detroit, Michigan, born in 1975. He began his career in 1996, collaborating with Chicago rapper Common and Detroit musician J Dilla . Riggins produced Common 's 1997 album "One Day It'll All Make Sense" , and has collaborated on many of his subsequent projects. In 2018, he formed the trio August Greene with Common and jazz instrumentalist Robert Glasper . In 2020, he formed the project Jahari Massamba Unit with Madlib . Riggins has also worked with artists such as Paul McCartney , Kanye West , Denzel Curry , Earl Sweatshirt , and Norah Jones . His contributions to jazz, hip-hop, and R&B have made him a key figure in the music industry.
