Julien Baker is an American singer-songwriter from Memphis, Tennessee, born in 1995. Known for her work in the indie genre, she first gained attention as a member of the punk-rock band Forrister (formerly The Star Killers). In 2015, she released her debut album, "Sprained Ankle", on 6131 Records, followed by her critically acclaimed sophomore album, "Turn Out the Lights", in 2017 under Matador Records. In 2018, she co-founded the supergroup boygenius alongside Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus. Julien Baker has made a significant impact on indie music with her introspective lyrics and emotive performances.
