Jerry Cantrell is an American musician, born March 18, 1966. He is best known as the guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter for Alice in Chains , one of the key bands of the 1990s grunge scene. Cantrell began his musical career in 1985 with the glam rock band Diamond Lie . Among Alice in Chains best-known songs are "Man in the Box" "Rooster" and "Would?" . In addition to his work with the band, Cantrell has released several solo albums, including "Boggy Depot" and "Degradation Trip" His contributions to the development of alternative rock and grunge have made him one of the genre's key figures.
