
Hal David (1921–2012) was an American songwriter who worked in the genres of traditional jazz and pop music. He wrote hundreds of hits, many of which became classics of the English-language pop music scene. From 1957, Hal David collaborated with composer Burt Bacharach , creating songs performed by artists such as Dionne Warwick . His famous works include "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" and "What the World Needs Now Is Love" Hal David was an Academy Award and Grammy Award winner and served as president of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers. His work left a significant mark on the history of popular music.
