
Sir Georg Solti (born Дьёрдь Штерн ) was a Hungarian-British conductor of Jewish descent, born on October 21, 1912, in Hungary. He is considered one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century, particularly known for his interpretations of operas and symphonic music. Solti recorded over 250 albums, including the complete opera cycle of Richard Wagner's "Кольцо Нибелунга" , which received numerous awards. During his career, he received 31 Grammy Awards, a record for a classical musician. His contribution to the development of world classical music and opera remains unrivaled.
