Cocteau Twins were a Scottish ethereal wave band active from 1979 to 1997. Formed in Grangemouth by Robin Guthrie and Will Heggie, the group was later joined by vocalist Elizabeth Fraser in 1981. In 1983, Simon Raymonde replaced Heggie, solidifying their classic lineup. Known for their lush, effects-laden sound and Fraser's soprano vocals with often indecipherable lyrics, they became pioneers of the 1980s dream pop subgenre. Albums like "Treasure" and "Heaven or Las Vegas" are considered landmarks in alternative rock. Their innovative approach left a lasting impact on the genre and inspired countless artists.
