Чёрный Обелиск is a Soviet and Russian metal band founded in 1986. The band gained fame thanks to its leader, bassist, and vocalist Анатолию Крупнову , who also wrote most of the songs. The band disbanded after his death in 1997, but was reorganized in 1999 by former members. Чёрный Обелиск performs music in the classic metal genre and has left a significant mark on the history of Russian rock. Among their well-known compositions are "Я остаюсь" and "Стена" The band contributed to the development of heavy music in Russia, remaining a cult favorite among fans of the genre.
