
Andreas Vollenweider (born October 4, 1953) is a Swiss musician, harpist, and composer working in the New Age genre. He is known for his works performed on an electroacoustic harp of his own design. Vollenweider gained international recognition thanks to albums such as "White Winds" and "Down to the Moon" the latter of which won a Grammy Award in 1987. His music combines elements of jazz, classical, and ethnic influences, giving his style a unique character. Vollenweider has made a significant contribution to the popularization of New Age music, expanding its boundaries and bringing attention to instrumental music.
