
Czesław Niemen (1939–2004) was a Polish singer, composer, and arranger, born in Poland and also known in the USSR. His work spanned the genres of progressive rock, pop, and R&B. Niemen became a cult figure thanks to his experimentation with musical forms and profound lyrics. One of his most famous songs is "Dziwny jest ten świat" considered a classic of Polish music. During his career, he released numerous albums, collaborated with various musicians, and had a significant influence on the development of progressive rock in Eastern Europe.
