Als eine kalte Sonne sich in den schwülen Morgen krallte

Und als der Sommer kalten Nächten weichen musste

Und der Wandrer noch immer vergebens suchte

Legte er sich zu ihren blanken Wurzeln

Während ein grauer Himmel warme Tränen

Über all die Jahre weinte
