Vater — Vater ich will beichten

Von den schweren und den leichten — Sünden sollt ihr mich befrei’n

Gottes Segen will ich kaufen

Von der Unschuld einen Haufen — meinen Geldsack geißeln und kastei’n

Paule ging einstmal ins Gotteshaus

Zog die Seele blank und packte aus

Er sprach er trüg zu viel der Sünd durchs Leben

Und wollte eben jedem Mal neues Antlitz geben

So fing der Paule an es zu beschreiben

Sein Dasein und sein lasterhaftes Treiben

Und augenblicklich ward dem Pfaffen klar

Das Paule wohl der größte Sünder hier auf Erden war

Und er fing an im Traum schon an das Ablassgeld zu zählen

Das viele, das er Paule wollt zur Buße gar empfehlen

Paule sprach was ihm so wiederfahren

In den vielen sündenreichen Jahren

Und dem Pfaff wurd langsam müd und fahl

Nach mittlerweile sieben Stunden Beichte ganz normal

Am Abend endlich Paule sprach: «Wär's recht das ihr nun das Gottesurteil

sprecht?

Wie komm ich nun drumrum um Höllenqualen

Oder mal auf christilich: Hergott was soll ich bezahlen?»

Der Pfaffe lechzend sprach, das Paules Sündenleb beschert

Der Kirch ein Kleinod, mindestens die Golddublone wert

Paule sprach: «ich will mich nicht erdreisten,

So nen Ablass kann man sich mal leisten,

Doch Vater bevor ich’s dir übertrage,

Habe ich noch ne klitzekleine Frage.

Sagt bloß kann ich denn auch für solches zahlen,

Dass noch nicht steht in meinen Sündenanalen?

Also quasi gradewegs doch schon

Eine Voraus-Absolution.

Zwei fette Golddublonen sollt ihr wahrlich dagür sehn.

Ich will mit meiner reinen Seel auf Nummer sicher gehen!»

Gierig sprach der Pfaffe fromm und fein: «Welche Sünd im Voraus solls denn sein?

Paule sprach: «Nur ein Halunkenmix

Aus Habgier, Raub und Mord sonst weiter nix.»

Der Pfaffe sprach: «Ei Paule, oh das ist ja kein Problem.

Für zwei Gold kannst du obendrauf noch gleich ne Schändung nehm!»

Da holte Paule den Knüppel raus und schlug dem Pfaff die Lichter aus

Packt sich sein Gutes wieder ein und auch das Krichenschätzelein

So tat der Paule lachend Gottes Segen wohl besingen

Da soll noch einer sagen Beichten würde gar nichts bringen

Paule once went to the church
