Человечек из ваты.

Полночная муть.

Он стоит у дороги, ему не уснуть.

Он приходит сюда, чтобы снова взглянуть

На старых стальных зверей.

Человечек из ваты стоит в стороне,

Глотает пыль придорожных камней.

Задыхаясь от гонки рычащих теней,

Смеется в глазах фонарей.

Человечек из ваты.

Скрежет колес.

Обрызган грязью и мокр насквозь.

Да, он скоро размякнет, но ему не до слез —

Сегодня смеется он!

Человечек из ваты забылся на миг,

Променяв свой руль на безликий лик.

Он смеется над нашим временем пик,

Над коллекцией ржавых корон.

Человечек из ваты не так давно

С железной толпою был заодно,

Он жил за высокой стальной стеной

И дрался за каждый приз.

Человечек из ваты сегодня один,

Он сошел с дистанции не победив.

Но он счастлив, что сегодня он отстал.

Позади

Он не помнит, где верх, а где низ.

On old steel beasts.

Swallows the dust of roadside stones.

Choking from the race of growling shadows,

Laughing in the eyes of the lanterns.

Wheel rattle.

Spattered with mud and wet through.

Today he laughs!

The man made of cotton wool forgot for a moment,

Having exchanged his steering wheel for a faceless face.

He laughs at our peak time

Above a collection of rusty crowns.

Cotton Man not so long ago

I was at one with the iron crowd,

He lived behind a high steel wall

And fought for every prize.

The cotton man is alone today,

He left the race without winning.

But he is happy that today he fell behind.
