Hydra - Spielbann

Ich steh' an deinem leeren Bett,

doch bist du längst schon nicht mehr hier.

Der Abschied fällt noch immer schwer,

im Todeskampf war ich bei dir.

Sie hat sich tief in dir versteckt,

hat dort verharrt, fast geisterhaft.

Dann schlug sie unerbittlich zu

und offenbarte ihre Kraft.

Du hast dich gegen sie gewehrt,

trenntest ihr ab den Kopf vom Rumpf.

Doch währte dieser Sieg nicht lang,

zwei neue wuchsen nach am Stumpf.

Hydra — Aus tausend Augen blickt der Tod!

Hydra — Und ihre Spur ist blutig rot!

Noch grausamer kam sie zurück

mit ihrer neu erlangten Macht

und ihre tausend Augen blitzten

in der Dunkelheit der Nacht.

Hinter Lidern, fiebrig schwer,

da tobte eine Schlacht zu groß,

und gegen ihre Köpfe bliebst

du doch am Ende chancenlos.

Und immer schneller fraß sie dich,

verschlang dich rasend, Stück für Stück,

ein letztes Mal sahst du mich an,

mit wachem, ungebroch’nem Blick.

Als wär' der Körper nicht genug

hat sie auch den Verstand bekriegt.

Zwar hat der Leib den Kampf verloren,

dein Geist jedoch blieb unbesiegt.

I'm standing by your empty bed

but you are long gone.

Saying goodbye is still hard

in agony I was with you.

She hid deep inside you

stayed there, almost ghostly.

Then she struck relentlessly

and revealed their power.

You resisted them

severed her head from her torso.

But this victory did not last long

two new ones grew on the stump.

Hydra — And her trail is bloody red!

She came back even more cruel

with their newfound power

and her thousand eyes twinkled

in the darkness of the night.

Behind lids, feverishly heavy,

there raged a battle too big,

and stayed against their heads

you don't stand a chance in the end.

And faster and faster she ate you

devoured you madly, piece by piece,

one last time you looked at me

with an alert, unbroken look.

As if the body wasn't enough

she's gone insane too.

Although the body has lost the fight,

but your spirit remained undefeated.
