Mondlicht lauert im Geäst

Bricht funkelnd sich im Schnee

Ich breite meine Arme aus

Mich küsst die Schmerzensfee

Ein heisser Hauch von dünnem Stahl

Und Rot verschlingt das Weiss

Ein Gruß hin in die Anderswelt

Mein Atem geht ganz leis

Es wird kalt… so kalt…

Ganz langsam gleitet federleicht

Mein Geist zum Sternenzelt

Mein Herz verlacht mit Flügeln fein

Den ganzen Schmerz der Welt

Der Winter bettet meinen Leib

In weissem Tuch zum Grab

Wohlig schwarz gefriert mein Blut

An jenem schönen Tag

Es ist so kalt… so kalt…

Moonlight lurks in the branches

Breaks sparkling in the snow

I spread my arms

The Sorrow Fairy kisses me

A hot whiff of thin steel

And red devours the white

A greeting to the other world

My breathing is very quiet

It's getting cold... so cold...

Very slowly glides as light as a feather

My spirit to the starry sky

My heart laughs finely with wings

All the pain in the world

Winter beds my body

In a white cloth to the grave

My blood freezes pleasantly black
