Thanathan und Athanasia - Samsas Traum

Hört, hört, die Nacht schreit um ihr Leben

Weil Thanathan vom Himmel fiel

Nach Sterblichkeit zu streben

Sie zu küssen war sein erstes Ziel

Heut' wird er sie entführen

In das Licht der Casiopaia

Ihre Unschuld dort berühren…

So spricht Thanathan zu Athanasia

Sein Lächeln strahlt so sonderbar:

«Dein Glanz erwärmt mein Innerstes

Dein Feuer läßt mich frieren

Was hinter Deinen Augen liegt

Es wundert mich zu Tode!

Der Tau an Deinen Lippen soll die meinigen verzieren!

«Und durch das Dunkel hallt es:

Vernunft ist nichts!

Gefühl ist alles!

«Sternschnuppen glimmen lauter jetzt

Und spinnen reibungsvoll ein Netz

Von der Sonne Flammenspitzen her zu mir:

Ich sehe Gott in Dir!

In Deinen Schoß will ich die Tränen sähen

Die unentwegt nach Innen liefen!

Kometen will ich weinen

Regen in des Kosmos Tiefen!

Die Wahrheit!

Schrei' sie heraus, Du Tor!

Nimm' Deinem Herz die Last!

Und klag' sie so in der Nacht Ohr

Daß deren Schwärze sanft erblaßt:

Der ist ein Narr, der sie nicht stößt

Sie zärtlich in die Tiefe reißt

Und ihr, auch wenn es Furcht einflößt

Einheit von Herz und Seel' beweist!

«Den Engeln möchte ich Flügel stehlen

Um den schnellsten Weg zu Dir zu wählen!

Ein Traum, von dem Du wissen solltest…

Ich kenne Dein Zittern, ich kenne Dein Bangen

Ich sage es nochmals, ich möchte Dich fangen…

Und finde nichts, daß Du nicht fallen wolltest!

Springe, Athanasia, springe herab

Zertrampele meine Liebe für den Tod!

Küsse bis zum Rand mich voller Leben

Und schneid' endlich das Wort mir ab!

Festgeredet steh' ich hier in Not

Es fällt mir nichts mehr ein, was meine Stimme bringt zum Beben!

Der Tag zu hell, die Nacht zu kalt

Der Weg war weit, erhöre mich bald!

Länger als zu lange mußte Thanathan noch warten

Er brachte Athanasia die allerschönsten Gaben

Doch wollt' sie weder hören noch sich an seinem Blicke laben!

Er malmte sich das Hirn und materte sich zum Erbrechen!

Thanathan erstarrte und sein Blut tranken die Raben

Selbst der Anblick seines Todes woll’t die Liebe nicht bestechen!

An Athanasias Ängsten mußte Thanathan zerbrechen

Und an seinen bleichen Knochen nagen nunmehr nur noch Ratten!

In Wirklichkeit jedoch ist Thanathan niemals gestorben

Und sie, sie hat ihn stets geliebt, die ganze lange Zeit

Zu seinem kalkulierten Glück ging Thanathan zu weit

Denn egal wie groß das Leiden war, Gott ist auf seinen Seiten

Zwar war er für ein solches Spiel zuvor niemals bereit

Doch Märchen sind für Menschen da, uns Träume zu bereiten

Und Träume sind zum Leben da, die Wahrheit sie begleiten:

So hat er bis zum Letzten Athanasias Gunst erworben

Thanathan und Athanasia, ihr Lächeln strahlt so sonderbar…

Hear, hear, the night is crying out for its life

Because thanathan fell from the sky

The truth!

Shout out, you fool!

Take the burden off your heart!

Thanathan had to wait longer than too long

He brought the most beautiful gifts to Athanasia

But she wanted neither to hear nor to feast on his looks!

He crushed his brain and made himself vomit!

Thanathan froze and the ravens drank his blood

Even the sight of his death doesn't want to bribe love!

Thanathan was broken by Athanasia's fears

And now only rats gnaw on his pale bones!

In reality, however, Thanathan never died

And she, she always loved him, the whole long time

To his calculated luck, Thanathan went too far
