Heute ist mein Montag,

und er nimmt Gestern gefangen,

gestern war der letzte Tag,

an dem die Vögel fröhlich sangen

und die Glocken dauernd läuteten.

Nach einer klaren Nacht ist heut' der eine Montag,

Du hast Flimmern mitgebracht.

Dies ist Deine Sonne,

sie geht morgen für Dich auf,

ich seh' sie nicht merh untergeh’n,

so nimmt es seinen Lauf,

es gibt nichts mehr zu lernen,

morgen bin ich nicht mehr hier,

denn dies ist Deine Sonne,

und sie scheint nur wegen Dir.

Setz' den Hut auf,

schnür die Schuhe,

hol' die Röcke aus der Truhe,

zieh' am Seil,

Du darfst nicht rasten,

nimm das Festkleid aus dem Kasten.

in die sternenklare Nacht,

wieso hast Du aus dem Montag keinen Sonnentag gemacht?
