Der Hund - Rummelsnuff

Erdverwachsen, stark im Biß

Nur einem Herrn verpflichtet ist;

Treu und redlich und loyal

Auch wenn der Weg katastrophal

Wüst das Land, weiß der Sand

Der starre Hund bleibt treu dabei

Sandsturm ihre Augen reibt-

Das Tier an seiner Seite bleibt

Ahua- dringt’s durch die Nacht

Wenn der Hund mit den Wölfen

In weiter Ferne spricht

Ahua- für einen Freund, so wie ihn

Zählen die eignen Wunden wohl nicht

Als Wolf geheuert, zum Hund dressiert

Er japsend seinen Ritt beglitt

Die Strecken würden immer wirrer

Ob Hitze plage, Kälte klirre

Und der Hunger bohrt sich drein

Doch klebt der treue Hund am Bein

Gibt brav dem Herrn, was Beute ist

Nimmt dankend, was der Herr vergißt

Ahua- dringt’s durch die Nacht

Wenn der Hund mit den Wölfen in weiter Ferne spricht

Ahua- für einen Freund, so wie ihn

Zählen die eigenen Wunden wohl nicht

Ein Wüstenritt nimmt seinen Lauf

Und wer hofft, der gibt nicht auf

Das geht nicht nur dem Menschen so

Auch der Hund ist hoffnungsfroh

Nun kommt, was schließlich kommen muß:

Des wirren Reiters Überdruß

Wittert ganz allein sein Glück

Läßt den einzigen Freund zurück

Heulend nach dem Meister rief

Und der Kummer saß so tief

Man fand den Hund halb sandbedeckt

Die Viere von dem Leib gestreckt

Not only the man, also the dog is hopeful

But finally and in the end, the mean rider fed up

Smells like luck without his only true friend

And leaves him back

Howls out for his master, and the pain was so enormous

Then found the dog, half buried in the desert sand
