Aus dem Schlaf der Glorien bin ich erwacht

Ich schaue aus Vergangenem

Und nichts ist wie es war!

Doch kämpfet mit Geiste

Kämpfet mit Kraft

Kämpfet mit Wissen

Und jeglicher Macht

Ihr findet die Gegner

Vielleicht auch in Euch selbst

Bekämpfet sie mit Inbrunst

Für eine neue doch alte Welt

Ich sehe die Seelen wie modrige Blätter

So unbedeutend und leer

…alles scheint mir welk

Ich sehe diese Fratzen — einst Gesichter

Stolze Häupter wurden schwer

Ich sehe nur Falschheit in vieler Herz

Und wundere mich — was ist geschehen?

Wofür man stand windet sich in Agonie

Wo ist der Stolz, ist er verbrannt?

Ist feig' und müde heut' jede Hand?

Doch nur der Schein ist welk

Und ich ahne dieser Welt Zerbrechen

Daß starke Menschen sich wieder erheben

Ich ahne dieser Feigheit ein schnelles Ende

Und daß ein Jeder einen stolzen Weg geht

That strong people rise again

I sense a quick end to this cowardice

And that everyone walks a proud path
