Today my childhood innocence

draws its final eager breath

on a bed of sad and salt

she shivers gently in my arms.

I close my eyes and through the dark

I hear the beating of my heart

and the body it comes from

In a voice so lovely and inviting.

Through infinite darkness and countless trials

The starlight travels millions of miles

Just so that it can rest

here upon her naked breast.

My life has been short of miracles

and I’ve wondered if there is a heaven at all

That God exists and loves me

Well she is the only proof I need.

And all such beauties that tell her softly

That I love her truly every moment more and more

for the gift she’s giving

her body glowing from the sweat on her skin

so pale and so pure.

A lifetime of loneliness

disappears on her lips

it gets lost beneath her tongue
