Snow is falling calmly

from the heavens to the earth

and happy new year, baby

whatever that is worth.

I thought we’d be safe by now

But I’m trying to act normal and forgetting how.

I’m removing the stitches now

and hoping we’ve healed but we’re bleeding out

Are we gonna be alright?

I can think back warmly

a winters past

And wouldn’t it be lovely if those times could last?

my head has been in the clouds

and yours has been preparing to go underground.

I thought I’d be sure by now

with all this time behind us yet there’s still this doubt.

Yeah where did this all come from?

And have we really lost the love?
