I heard the blues man sing this song today.

It made me smile, it shed some light my way.

its been so long since i run with faith.

I will lhold her hand, wont let her loose again.

Beneath the street lights he sang slow

His story of his life in a sad tone.

He aint begging for no change or the same he dont have no money in the bank,

so if you go passed throw summin in his hat do.

hes got a voice deeper then his past goes, on a corner scrummin with his hands

cold.

Pay money for this mans bones.

Been through things your hardly believe.

saw his son go down in the hart of the beef.

cant run, still carrying the

scars on the street.

none for the mark of the beast.

cant get asleep so he

sparks up the weed.

thinking of reasons he cant be at peace.

mad cause his dad

couldnt father his seed.
