Степь да степь кругом,

Путь далек лежит.

В той степи глухой

Замерзал ямщик.

И, набравшись сил,

Чуя смертный час,

Он товарищу

Отдавал наказ:

«Ты, товарищ мой,

Не попомни зла,

Здесь, в степи глухой

Схорони меня!

Ты лошадушек

Сведи к батюшке,

Передай поклон

Родной матушке

А жене младой

Ты скажи, друг мой,

Чтоб она меня

Не ждала домой.

Передай словцо

Ей прощальное

И отдай кольцо

Обручальное.

Пусть она по мне

Не печалится,

С тем, кто сердцу мил,

Пусть венчается.

Про меня скажи,

Что в степи замерз,

А любовь ее

Я с собой унес.»

Steppe and steppe all around,

The path is far.

In that steppe deaf

The coachman froze.

And, gaining strength,

Feeling the hour of death

He is a friend

He gave orders:

"You, my friend,

Remember no evil

Here, in the deaf steppe

Bury me!

You are horses

Bring it to the father

Give my regards

native mother

And the young wife

You say, my friend,

So that she me

Didn't wait to go home.

Pass the word

her farewell

And give me the ring

Engagement.

Let her follow me

Don't be sad

With those who are dear to the heart,

Let her get married.

Tell me about me

What is frozen in the steppe,

And her love

I took it with me."
