Warum gibt es unsre Erde?

Warum kreist um sie der Mond?

Warum dreht sie um die Sonne ihre Bahn?

Warum hat der Mensch das Glück, dass er auf dieser Erde wohnt?

Ist es Zufall oder folgt es einem Plan?

Warum fühlen wir innren Frieden, wenn wir Kinder schlafen sehen?

Warum ist ein Tag am Meer so tröstend schön?

Warum rührt Musik uns oft zu Trän'n?

All das würd ich so gerne mal verstehen

So viel kann ich mir nicht recht erklären

Warum gibt es Konferenzen über Klima-Politik

Indem man sich gegenseitig nur blockiert?

Warum führen Verstand und Weitblick, äußerst selten nur zum Sieg?

Woran liegt’s das viel zu oft das Geld regiert?

Warum gilt als höchstes Gut in unsrer Zivilisation

Sich von allem viel mehr als man braucht zu nehmen?

Grad so als würd's noch 'ne Erde geb’n

All' das würd' ich so gerne mal versteh’n

Der Mensch will steht’s nur sich selber seh’n

Doch warum, dass kann ich einfach nicht versteh’n

Warum glauben manche Menschen, Glaube gäbe ihnen das Recht

Zu behaupten, Glaube anderer sei nichts wert?

Warum stürzt man sich im Namen eines Gottes ins Gefecht

Und glaubt dadurch würde töten ehrenwert?

Warum nutzt man Religionen für den Terror und die Angst

Wo sie eigentlich doch für den Frieden stehen?

Wer kommt auf so dämliche Ideen?

Das kann ich beim besten Willen nicht verstehen

Das sich alle Götter Ihrer schäm'n

Können diese Vollidioten wohl nicht seh’n?

Warum gibt es dies und jenes?

Wie kann mancherlei passier’n?

Warum ist so vieles schräg und wunderlich?

Solche Fragen kann man stellen und darüber debattieren

Doch die Antworten behält die Welt für sich

Mit Verstand und Überlegung ist nicht allem beizukomm'

Manchmal hilft nur Dinge staunend anzunehm'

Wir sind, ganz egal wie wir es drehen, nicht dafür gemacht um alles zu verstehen

Wir sind kleinste Teilchen im System

Nicht dafür gemacht um alles zu verstehen

Doch das macht das Leben nicht weniger schön

Why does it revolve around the sun?

Why is man lucky enough to live on this earth?

Is it coincidence or does it follow a plan?

Why do we feel inner peace when we see children sleeping?

Why is a day by the sea so comfortingly beautiful?

Why does music often move us to tears?

I'd love to understand all of that

By just blocking each other?

Why does reason and foresight very rarely lead to victory?

Why is it that money rules far too often?

Why is considered the highest good in our civilization

Take a lot more of everything than you need?

Just as if there were another earth

I would love to understand all of that

Man just wants to see himself

But I just can't understand why

Why do some people believe that faith gives them the right

Claiming that the beliefs of others are worthless?

Why do you throw yourself into battle in the name of a god

And believe thereby would kill honorably?

Why are religions used for terror and fear

Where do they actually stand for peace?

Who comes up with such stupid ideas?

I can't understand that with the best will in the world

That all the gods are ashamed of you

Can't these idiots see?

Why is there this and that?

How can things happen?

Why is so much weird and whimsical?

Such questions can be asked and debated

But the world keeps the answers to itself

You can't do everything with reason and consideration

Sometimes it only helps to accept things in amazement

No matter how we shoot it, we are not made to understand everything

We are the smallest particles in the system
