Früh schon war es bei mir Fakt:

Ich bin geistig nicht intakt

Gegen jede Therapie war ich immun

Meine Eltern fragten bang:

«Wird der Junge je zum Mann?»

Doch der Arzt sprach: «Ich kann gar nichts für sie tun.»

Man zählt mich zu der Rubrik:

«Etwas sonderlicher Freak»

Leute tuscheln und man geht mir aus dem Weg

Ich entspreche nicht der Norm

Pass in keine Uniform

Weil ich regelwidrige Gedanken heg:

Ich hab noch nie begriffen, was das soll

Diesen Sport find ich nur primitiv und schlichtweg grauenvoll

Nähert sich ein großes Spiel

Wär' ich gerne im Exil

Denn die Fans, die führ'n sich auf als wäre Krieg

Schon am Bahnhof kann man’s seh’n:

Sie formier’n sich zu Armeen

Wild entschlossen woll’n sie den totalen Sieg

Grölend zieh’n sie durch die Stadt

Machen ringsum alles platt

Die Arena ist als Kampfplatz anvisiert

Sie sind längst schon völlig breit

Und von jeder Scham befreit

Wenn ihre Mannschaft auf dem Spielfeld exerziert

Kriegen irrsinnig viel Geld;

Dabei hab’n die doch noch nicht einmal studiert?!

Ist 'nem Team ein Sieg geglückt

Spiel’n die Fans total verrückt

Dabei war’n die selbst doch gar nicht involviert

Ob Bayern München nun verliert

Oder Stuttgart sich blamiert

Weil der Stürmer alle Torchancen versiebt;

Werder in der Champions League

Wolfsburg wieder ohne Sieg;

Was kann ich dafür, dass mir das gar nichts gibt?

Die ganze Massenhysterie ist mir ein Kropf

Oh, wie ich ihn hasse, diesen Kult um Fußball

Wen dies Spiel so fasziniert, der ist nicht klar im Kopf — jedoch

Geb ich euch noch eine Chance, denn vielleicht lernt auch ihr es noch

Hoffentlich lernt auch ihr es noch

It was a fact for me early on:

I am not mentally intact

I was immune to any therapy

My parents asked anxiously:

"Will the boy ever become a man?"

But the doctor said, "I can't do anything for you."

I belong to the category:

«Something special freak»

People whisper and I get avoided

I don't conform to the norm

Don't fit in any uniform

Because I have irregular thoughts:

I'm just not interested in football

I've never understood what that's supposed to mean

I'm just not interested in football;

I find this sport just primitive and simply horrible

A big game is approaching

I would like to be in exile

Because the fans, they act like there's a war

You can already see it at the train station:

They form armies

Wildly determined they want total victory

They roar through the city

Flatten everything around

The arena is targeted as a battleground

They've been completely wide for a long time

And freed from all shame

When their team drills on the pitch

I'm just not interested in football

I've never understood what that's supposed to mean

Players run across the field

get insane amounts of money;

They haven't even studied yet?!

Has a team managed to win?

The fans go totally crazy

But they weren't involved at all

Whether Bayern Munich now loses

Or Stuttgart makes a fool of itself

Because the striker squanders all chances to score;

Werder in the Champions League

Wolfsburg without a win again;

What can I do if it doesn't give me anything?

I'm just not interested in football

The whole mass hysteria sucks

Oh how I hate this cult of football

Whoever is so fascinated by this game is not clear in his head - however

I'll give you another chance, because maybe you'll learn it too

Hope you learn it too
