Ich kleinen Cafe am Strand

Sitze ich und halt' den brief in der Nacht

Der schon gestern kam

Ich hab' ihn bis jetzt nicht gelesen

Draußen wütet der Wind

Nass und kalt, doch es ist schön warm hier drin

Und ich weiß ganz genau

Dass ich mich nicht trau', ihn zu lesen

Und dann schau' ich hinaus auf die See

Sie tobt und jetzt fällt auch noch Schnee

Ich tret' vor die Tür, ich spür', es ist tiefer Dezember

Und ich schaue zum Himmel hinauf

Komm, bitte reiss endlich auf

Gib mir das Licht, das ich so vermiss'

Ich geh' wieder rein, schließ' die Tür

Und sehe den Umschlag vor mir

Und ich reiß' ihn auf

Zieh' den Brief mit klopfendem Herz raus

Da liegt nun ein Stück Papier

Darauf stehen zwölf Wörter von dir

Bitte, komm endlich heim, wenn du mich vermisst

So wie ich dich

Und dann schau' ich hinaus auf die See
