Ich öffne die Augen, ein gräuliches Licht

Dringt von draußen herein, legt sich auf mein Gesicht

Und ich denke zurück was die Zeit mir versprach

Einen Traum, einen Weg und an den Morgen danach

Die Tage verschwinden, ein totes Gefühl

Schleicht durch meine Gedanken, es bleibt mir nicht viel

Was ich heute nicht bin, das kann ich niemals sein

Gibt es denn irgendwas zu verzeihen?

Und immer wieder fängt alles von vorne an

Derselbe Tag und die Seele zerbricht daran

Und immer wieder erleb (e) ich die gleiche Welt

Bis ich verliere, was mich noch zusammenhält

Kannst du mich hören?

Kannst du mich fühlen?

Kannst du mich sehen?

Und mich berühren?

Ich schau auf die Uhr und sie tickt gnadenlos

Wann ist alles vorbei, wann geht es endlich los

Die Erinn’rung in mir, sie wird langsam zu Stein

Jedes Bild, jedes Wort, es scheint dasselbe zu sein

Wer soll mich schon hören, schrei ich noch so laut

Aus dem goldenen Käfig, den ich selber erbaut

Und ich traume mich vor an den äußersten Rand

Ich erkenn das Gefühl als mir die Welt offen stand

And touch me?

I look at the clock and it's ticking relentlessly

When will it all be over, when will it finally start

The memory in me, it's slowly turning to stone

Every picture, every word, it seems the same

Who should hear me, no matter how loud I scream

From the golden cage that I built myself

And I dream myself to the very edge

I recognize the feeling when the world was open to me
