Растаяла дымка сквозная,

След облака в небе пустом,

Ничто не вернется, я знаю,

Но плачу совсем не о том.

Гнетет мою душу иное,

А если чего-то и жаль —

Виной облака надо мною, —

Следы в нелюдимую даль.

Они чем-то схожи с печалью,

И сходство печалит меня —

И смутной тоске я вручаю

Кипучие горести дня.

Но то, что гнетет нарастая,

И плачет всему вопреки,

Живет выше облачной стаи,

Почти за пределом тоски.

Я даже не знаю, дано ли

Душе разгадать эту суть,

И силюсь поверхностью боли

Ее глубину обмануть.

Не будет назад мне возврата,

Не станет за мною следа,

И все же спешу я куда-то,

Не зная зачем и куда.

Опять не дождавшись ответа,

Не в силах порвать эту связь,

Вослед за смеющимся ветром

Я сам улетаю, смеясь.

The haze melted through,

The trace of a cloud in an empty sky,

Nothing will come back, I know

But I'm not crying about that at all.

Another oppresses my soul,

And if something is a pity -

The fault of the clouds above me, -

Footprints in the unsociable distance.

They are somewhat similar to sadness,

And the similarity saddens me -

And vague longing I hand

The seething sorrows of the day.

But what oppresses growing,

And cries in spite of everything

Lives above the clouds

Almost beyond melancholy.

I don't even know if it's given

Soul to unravel this essence,

And I'm on the surface of pain

Deceive its depth.

There will be no return to me,

There will be no trace of me,

And yet I'm in a hurry somewhere,

Not knowing why and where.

Again without waiting for an answer,

Unable to break this connection,

Following the laughing wind

I myself fly away, laughing.
