Который месяц с этим живу,

Поделать ничего не могу…

Я безнадёжно мнительным стал,

Всю душу кто-то мне измотал.

Я на своих соседей грешил,

Что все меня доводят, решил.

За скверный мой характер, видать,

Решили, суки, заколебать.

Кто лазает по дому,

Всё шепчет и к дурному

Склоняет, дело — дрянь!

Везде, куда не глянь,

Следы моих попыток

Заткнуть его, но прыток

Злодей и хоть бы раз

Попался мне на глаз.

И дождливым днём,

И ночью при луне

Он что-то шепчет мне.

Я с топором спускался в подвал,

Где звуки снова он издавал.

Во мраке все углы проверял,

Лишь время зря на это терял.

Проныра лихо прятаться мог,

Какой в своей игре видел прок?

Не ясно было мне, хоть убей,

Эх, нарывался он всё сильней!

Кто лазает по дому,

Всё шепчет и к дурному

Не слышать болтуна,

Но радовался рано,

Он в самый пик пожара

Настойчивее стал,

Без умолку шептал.

В тот ужасный миг

Стало ясно мне,

Он в моей голове.
