Stern Der Ungeborenen - Illuminate

Kaum dem Schmerz entronnen stehst Du nun vor mir,

Die Augen schwer und müde — ohne Schlaf.

Du blickst durch mich hindurch, doch sehe ich in Dir,

Was mir verborgen blieb in jener Zeit.

Und wieder scheint es mir, die Möglichkeit ganz nahe,

Mich aufzuopfern, wie beim letzten Mal.

Mich bloß zu zeigen — ich ungebor’nes Kind,

Obwohl die Rolle mir doch so verhaßt.

Und wenn nur diese Bitte bleibt: Lösch hinter Dir die Lichter aus!

Verschließ die Tür und wirf den Spiegel ein!

Und wenn tatsächlich jemand fragt: Sag einfach, daß ich nicht mehr bin —

Denn diese Lüge wird die letzte sein!

Und wenn dann spät, in dunkler Nacht, ein Licht den Weg nicht finden kann,

Dann schließ mich weg und häng' ein Schloß davor!

Und wenn dann jemand nach mir fragt: Sag einfach, daß Du mich nicht kennst —

Du wirst schon sehen, wie recht Du damit hast!

Und ich weiß, daß der Traum von neuem quält.

Ich blicke starr durch Dich, doch sehe in Dir,

Daß bald Dein Herz geboren wird!
