Yet driven to prosper

To aim for something beyond

The confines of mind

Of tedious sciolism

Creative coma still suffocating

Imperfect vision coming to life

Each note and line excruciating

Paranoid of any contrivance

Deftly stepping word to word

Castigating falsehoods

No reprimand is harsher

Than one uttered to the self

Decision looming constantly

Onwards or to cease

Battles of will and ego

Threaten corruption of intent

Rather accept this chance

In the face of decline
