Nordlichter wehn - Godewind

Wind fällt wie Regen ewig auf’s Land,

Fließt über`n Himmel, wirbelt im Sand,

Raut auf die Worte, kühlt ab die Haut,

Wohnt nicht in Schlössern aus Luft gebaut.

Nordlichter weh`n hoch über mir.

Fahnen der Sonne im großen Bär.

Nordlichter weh`n in mich hinein,

Ich möchte wieder im Norden sein.

Wohnt auf den Bergen, schweigender Stein,

Rollt wie ein Felsen in`s Meer hinein.

Lautlose Feuer, blau, eisig-grün,

Die erst am Morgen langsam verglüh`n

Wind falls like rain forever on the land,

Flows across the sky, swirls in the sand,

Rough on the words, cools the skin

Dwell not in castles built of air.

Northern lights blow high above me.

Flags of the sun in the big bear.

Northern lights blow into me,

I want to be up north again.

Dwells on the mountains, silent stone,

Rolls like a rock into the sea.

Silent fires, blue, icy green,

Which only slowly burn up in the morning
