Ma, sognavo… E il bel sogno svanì

She asked me softly for mercy ...

Just a look that was promised

You begged, bent at my foot

I was silent and with a strong soul

The tempting desire fought

I have experienced martyrdom and death

Yet I won and told you no

And the strength of the heart betrayed me

I closed my eyes, I stretched out my arms ...

But, I was dreaming ... And the beautiful dream vanished
