Vom kleinen Hinterhofkino aus gesehen

Muss die Freiheit Pirat auf den Weltmeeren sein

Und auch die Liebe nur Einsamkeit

Oder ein schnödes Abziehbild

Vom Himmel oder von Zweisamkeit allein

Ich hab das Kino von oben gesehen

Durch Löcher im Dach regnet es Sturzbäche rein

Keiner mehr in den Sesseln der weint

Keine Glühbirne die hier mehr scheint

Der letzte Film auf der Leinwand muss einige Jahre vorbei sein

Auch wenn ich Flügel hab, kann ich nicht fliegen

Obwohl ich Füße hab, kann ich nicht gehen

Trotzdem ist es ganz einfach

Das alles von oben zu sehen

Und obwohl nichts jetzt dringender wäre

Schaff ich es einfach nicht mehr zu weinen

Das scheint bei Weitem der traurigste Film

Auf Erden zu sein

Vom kleinen Hinterhofkino aus gesehen

Ist die Freiheit der Griff ins Garantiert-alles-Bio-Regal

Und der Tod kann ein Kurzschluss sein

Ein düsterer Schattenriss an jeder Wand

Oder vielleicht auch ein einfacher Wink mit dem Zaunpfahl

Ich hab den Hof von oben gesehen:

Ein dunkler Fleck unberechenbar und gemein

Ein kleiner Teil der Stadt, wo wir leben

Und ich sah Dich darin ganz allein

Durch Gewitter und andere Zeichen unserer Zeit gehen

Selbst wenn ich Flügel hab, kann ich nicht fliegen

Auch wenn ich Füße hab, kann ich nicht gehen

Wenn ich an Dich und mich denke

Kann ich uns nicht mehr verstehen

Und obwohl nichts jetzt dringender wäre

Schaff ich es einfach nicht mehr zu weinen

Das scheint bei Weitem der traurigste Film

Auf Erden zu sein

And love only loneliness

Or a silly decal

From the sky or from togetherness alone

I saw the cinema from above

It rains in torrents through holes in the roof

Nobody in the armchairs who cries anymore

No lightbulb that shines here anymore

The last film on the screen must have been a few years past

Even if I have wings, I can't fly

Even though I have feet, I can't walk

Nevertheless, it is very simple

To see all this from above

And although nothing would be more urgent now

I just can't cry anymore

This seems by far the saddest movie

to be on earth

Seen from the small backyard cinema

Is freedom the grip on the guaranteed-everything-organic shelf

And death can be a short circuit

A sombre silhouette on every wall

Or maybe a simple wink with the fence post

I saw the yard from above:

A dark spot unpredictable and mean

A small part of the city where we live

And I saw you in it all alone

Go through thunderstorms and other signs of our times

Even if I have wings, I can't fly

Even if I have feet, I can't walk

When I think of you and me

I can no longer understand us

And although nothing would be more urgent now

I just can't cry anymore
